Pact's educational programs have a nationwide reputation for excellence, particularly on the subject of adoption and race. We offer a broad range of learning opportunities led by Pact staff as well as other experts in the field. Programs range from single-session workshops to our weeklong Pact Family Camp. Whatever the format, you will find sensitive, experienced facilitators and a community of other adoptive parents who share your questions and concerns.

Anti-Bias Education: How To Support Adopted Youth of Color in the Classroom

The event will feature a presentation by author of Anti-Bias Curriculum and Teaching/Learning Anti-Racism, Louise Derman-Sparks and will be followed by a facilitated conversation and Q&A session. WEBINAR: To Tell or Not to Tell? When Adopted Children Have Difficult Histories

Adoptive parents often worry about how to talk to their children about the difficult history that is part of their life story. We will discuss decision-making about whether and when to tell adopted people “the hard stuff” in their own history.

Tween & Teen Club

Pact’s Teen & Tween Clubs are designed especially for adopted and fostered teens of color. Non-adopted siblings are also invited to participate. Separate gatherings for Tweens (ages 10 to 12) and Teens (ages 13 to 18) create a space where youth can connect with same-age peers who share their experiences, while also being mentored by adult adoptees and fostered adults, as well as non-adopted allies of color.
