Pact, An Adoption Alliance Program Descriptions

Pact Camp Counselor In Training (CIT) Program

We are always looking for dedicated, energetic, compassionate people to work with our kids. Being a CIT at Pact Camp will be fun, but also demands a lot of hard work and responsibility. It's important to realize that if you are accepted, you become part of the team that makes camp work for the campers.

  • Youth of color who will serve as role models for our campers
  • Direct experience of adoption and/or foster care (yourself or a sibling)
  • Experience working with children and/or youth (the more, the better)
  • Special talents in something that can be shared (sports, dance, music, etc)
  • Previous participation as a Pact Camper

To apply you must complete an application and turn in a parental consent form. We would also like to schedule an in-person interview with you at the Pact office after your completed application is received. The priority deadline for applying for camp is April 15, 2010. We will notify you of acceptance into the program by May 15th.

CITs must be at least 16 years old. The cost to participate in the CIT program is $400 for the camp session if you are coming on your own, and $300 if your family is attending Pact Camp. Once you have completed a successful year as a CIT, you are eligible to apply as an assistant counselor (if you are over age 18) for which you will receive a stipend.
