Children who are placed for adoption in the midst of trauma respond by internalizing the experience. They need help to understand and manage the emotional pain on top of whatever other trauma’s led to their placement. Topics include recruitment and reasons for adopting waiting children, what happens to youth who don’t get adopted, and lots of articles to help foster parents understand children’s behaviors in reaction to what has happened to them.
