Pact Affiliated Internet Chat Groups
These are usually unmoderated chat groups for adoptive parents. As part of our mission, Pact, an Adoption Alliance encourages uncensored exchange between members. Pact does not take responsibility for nor necessarily agree with any posting on such lists. Although Pact staff are members of the groups, we generally do not post in order to encourage free exchange among members. If you have questions or concerns, you may contact Pact directly at info@pactadopt.org. Look for more groups to be added quarterly.
- Families with Adopted Children of Color
This discussion group, comprised primarily of attendees of Pact Camp (any year) is a list that was originally established by parents who attended Pact's Camp for Adoptive Families of Color in the summer of 2004 but is open to all families interested in these issues, not just Pact Camp alumni. It is a forum for adoptive parents to discuss issues and exchange information and opinions about parenting adopted children of color. This group is not limited to parents of any race although the majority of the members are white transracial adoptive parents.
- Adoptive Parents of Color (and their parenting partners)
This chat group is for adoptive parents of color and their partners - pre-adoptive parents are welcome as well! This is a space where families of color who have adopted children can create community. Adoptive parents in families where at least one parent is a person of color can join together in a mixed race community for discussions and support about parenting issues related to adoption and race.
- Adoptive Parents of Color (only)
This chat group is for adoptive parents of color and pre-adoptive parents of color exclusively. Pact believes in creating affinity groups where adoptive parents of color can join together for discussion and community, with other same race parents to find support around raising strong happy children of color in adoption.
- Southern California Adoptive Parents of Children of Color
This is a forum for adoptive parents to discuss issues and exchange
information and opinions about parenting adopted children of color. This
group includes parents of all races who are looking for peer support.
- Pact's Single Parent Chat Group
Adoptive parents will have a forum for discussing their experiences as single parents of adopted children of color.
