Adoption is a lifelong pact.

A birth parent and her newborn baby Pact helps expectant parents (or parents who have already given birth) to find adoptive families yearning to adopt their African American, Latino, Asian, Native American and multiracial children that are born anywhere in the United States. Pact recruits adoptive families looking to adopt and who want to adopt children of color as their first choice.

Pact embraces expectant parents facing an unplanned pregnancy and at a major turning point in their lives. Some women and men contact us directly. Others come through referrals from adoption agencies or private adoption professionals. We work with birth families from all states. All of our adoption services are free to expectant parents.

Who is an expectant parent? - This is someone who is thinking about an adoption plan for their child. These women and men have all legal rights to parent their child, even if they are making an an adoption plan or have met an adoptive family. We work with expectant parents to help them make the best possible decision for their baby and themselves.

Who is a birth/first parent? - This is someone who has relinquished all their legal rights to parent their child or has had their parental rights terminated.

Pact believes that expectant parents facing unplanned pregnancies have the right to choose the family who will adopt their baby. Women of color deserve the same choices, control, and respect as others who choose adoption. Sometimes there are more expectant parents of healthy newborns of color looking for adoptive families than there are prospective parents of color who are ready to adopt. You can decide if you want to consider placing your child with parents of another race.

You have some big decisions to make. You may feel as if you don't have options - but you do. At Pact, we offer you information about all your choices and then you make the decisions. Whether you make an adoption plan or decide to parent your baby yourself, Pact will support you in whatever way you decide is right for you and your baby. You will be in charge.
