Orientation for Pre-Adoptive Parents
with Katie Wynen
September 17th, 2019, 7:00pm – 8:30pm
Location: 5515 Doyle Street Suite 1, Emeryville, CA 94608
Join Pact’s Adoption Social Worker, Katie Wynen, for a FREE orientation to learn about the adoption process through Pact. Pact supports expectant/birth parents who are specifically seeking adoptive parents of color (Black, Latinx, Asian, multiracial) to adopt their baby. Parents considering transracial adoption (adopting across racial lines) are welcome to attend as well.
This is a no-obligation opportunity to gather information about the adoption process with Pact. You will learn about Pact’s ethical and child-centered approach to adoption placement. We will go over the home study process and what will be required. We will review the timeline and costs of domestic infant adoption with Pact, and you will learn about other services and programs that Pact offers in addition to placement.
Katie Wynen, MSW, has worked with adoptees and adoptive families since 2005. Katie has been with Pact since 2012 and works with Pact's pre-adoptive families, leads a support group for adult adoptees of color and leads educational webinars throughout the year on adoption, race, openness and more. Katie is an international, transracial adoptee.
This event is FREE.
